Reading and Writing
Learning to read can be a distressing challenge for many students. Lightbulb Moments draws upon multi-sensory instruction based on Orton-Gillingham and the Science of Reading to help students become confident and fluent readers. These supports are effective for students with identified and unidentified reading challenges (such as dyslexia) along with those who just need a little extra boost.

Foundational Math
The early years of math and numeracy development become the building blocks for future mathematical success. Lightbulb Moments provides support in K-8th grade math including numerical reasoning, word problems, fact fluency, problem solving, and addressing math anxiety. Referrals to secondary math specialists may also be provided, when needed.

Executive Function and ADHD
Does your child or teen struggle with focus, attention, or self-regulation? Do they find challenge in tasks related to organization, following multiple-step directions, getting started with an assignment, or finishing what they’ve started? If any or all of this sounds familiar, your child or teen may benefit from a customized executive function support plan.

Social-Emotional Support
Social-emotional difficulties can impede learning and affect self-confidence and overall well-being. Lightbulb Moments provides holistic support, incorporating emotional integration and strengthening social skills. Lightbulb Moments can also help navigate outside resources for anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges that may arise.

Assessment and Referrals
For students who regularly attend educational therapy sessions with Lightbulb Moments, informal assessment is incorporated in order to inform instruction and provide insight into your child’s learning and skills. Guidance can also be provided when considering formal evaluation. Lightbulb Moments provides consultation in this area as well as referrals to appropriate outside professionals.

Parent Consultation
Parent consultation and coaching options are available to both families with students enrolled in Lightbulb Moments and those who are not yet enrolled. Consultation areas include but are not limited to educational advocacy, IEP/504 meeting attendance, resources in the home, navigating school choice, and knowing when and how to seek outside support.
